Others begin with a question. <\/p>\n<p>When Alessandro Mucci set off from Druento in December 2024 to complete a full loop of the Iberian Peninsula, his goal was never simply to reach a geographical destination. He was searching for something deeper: to challenge himself, step beyond his comfort zone, and discover what happens when you choose to rely solely on your own legs, your ability to adapt, and the road unfolding ahead of your front wheel. <\/p>\n<p>Seventy-eight days on the road. More than 6,300 kilometres covered. Over 60,000 metres of climbing. A route that took him from the French Alps to Portugal&#8217;s Atlantic coastline, crossing some of Spain&#8217;s most captivating regions before finally returning home after nearly three months spent in the saddle.   <\/p>\n<p>But the numbers tell only part of the story. The true essence of the journey was freedom. <\/p>\n<p>The freedom to cross entirely different landscapes within just a few days. The freedom to stop and watch the sunrise over the Atlantic in Portugal&#8217;s Algarve. The freedom to choose a quiet back road simply because it promised something intriguing beyond the next bend. It&#8217;s about the people. <\/p>\n<p>Throughout France, Spain and Portugal, Alessandro experienced an extraordinary level of hospitality. Strangers were ready to help, fellow cyclists stopped for a chat or to offer assistance, and accommodation hosts turned a simple booking into a heartfelt welcome. These experiences left a lasting impression and confirmed one of cycling&#8217;s greatest gifts: its ability to create genuine connections with both the places you travel through and the people who call them home.  <\/p>\n<p>Among all the memories from those months, one stands above the rest: Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>Far from home, in a small town between Barcelona and Valencia, Alessandro expected to spend Christmas Day alone. Instead, fate had other plans. An unexpected invitation from the owner of the bed &#038; breakfast where he was staying turned into a shared Christmas lunch with people he had met only hours before. Around one table came new friendships\u2014and the reminder that the most memorable journeys are often the ones that don&#8217;t follow the original plan.   <\/p>\n<p>Of course, there were difficult moments too.<\/p>\n<p>Galicia, with its Atlantic climate, relentless wind and rain, proved to be one of the toughest sections of the entire journey. After weeks of riding more than one hundred kilometres a day, fatigue inevitably began to take its toll. Essential qualities for consecutive days of 100-plus kilometres while carrying everything needed to live and work on the road. <\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Because this adventure had one defining characteristic: it wasn&#8217;t a holiday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Every morning began with a few hours of remote work before getting back on the bike. A laptop, camera equipment and work essentials travelled alongside everything needed for nearly three months on the road. It was a demanding logistical challenge that required a bike capable of delivering reliability, responsiveness and an engaging ride, even after thousands of kilometres.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">A lightweight bikepacking setup made it possible to maintain a fast, dynamic riding style, turning the Eravel into far more than a means of transport, it became a true travelling companion. A constant presence across Alpine passes, Mediterranean coastlines, Atlantic roads and long stretches surrounded by nature. <\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The complete loop of the Iberian Peninsula marked Alessandro&#8217;s first major long-distance adventure.
